Leave Your Mark
Philanthropia, or loving what it is to be human, was thought to be the key to civilization. As the practice of philanthropy evolved, it became more widely appreciated as the “private initiatives for the public good, focusing on the quality of life”.1
September 1st starts the beginning of thumbprint cellars' “Leave Your Mark” campaign.
"Leave your Mark" is our twelve-week long initiative to raise awareness and funds for educators, women and men’s health issues, and the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
In September, we will celebrate our educators by offering specials and complimentary tastings all month long. These heroes make a difference in our community. See more on our Facebook page.
And kicks off our “Leave your Mark” initiative. Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with breast cancer, which means a life has been changed forever in just about the same amount of time it takes to enjoy a taste of one wine. During each October 2013 and 2014 we raised over $1000 in money and awareness for breast cancer research. Once again this year, we will be accepting monetary donations, and selling ‘Save Second Base’ bracelets, with proceeds going directly to the Breast Cancer Research fund at Sonoma County's Sutter Medical Center.
Movember’s annual charity drive encourages men to grow mustaches over the course of November and use their facial hair as conversation starters to raise awareness and money for men's health causes, such as research to treat testicular and prostate cancers. This year we will be hosting our 2nd annual comedy fundraiser,
On November 21st, 2015 the Wine Walk Healdsburg Alliance will 'officially' kick-off the fundraiser by hosting, "Chili for Charity" a chili cook-off competition and collective complimentary wine tasting event. Guests will sample and vote for their favorite chili, as well as enjoyed entertainment, special offers and more. Entry to the November event can be made at any one of the participating wineries by making a monetary contribution. More details can be found here.
thumbprint cellars' “Leave your Mark” campaign culminates with the ‘official’ unveiling of a “Canvas of Generosity” created by our guests who Leave their Mark and placed their colorful thumbprints on a special canvas in the tasting room. Join us in support of these causes and Leave Your Mark this fall!
